History

Uno came to Vanity City in the United States and disguised himself as Dr. Curt Falconer while fufilling his role for the Q Foundation by battling evil as Aztek while he awaited the chance to do battle against Tezcatlipoca. He battled various supervillains including Joker, and the android Amazo. Eventually, he was asked to join the JLA.

On his first mission, Aztek became embroiled in the battle against Lex Luthor's first Injustice Society. Luthor revealed to Aztek that he funded much of the Q Foundation's work so he could have a hero in the JLA. Aztek defied Luthor and deactivated several nuclear bombs the IS had teleported into the Watchtower. Aztek then helped Martian Manhunter operate on the injured Jemm. In the aftermath, Aztek quit the JLA.

Months later, the cosmic superweapon, Maggedon, was revealed to be Tezcatlipoca. Aztek went up alone against devastating device and was nearly destroyed. He stumbled completely blind into a mass gathering of heroes to warn them of Maggedon's power. After resting, Aztek set out again and revived Orion. He then found Superman after the Man of Steel was made a prisoner inside Maggedon. He told him to "tell them I did my duty" and pressed a button on his suit. The massive magic and cosmic power that powered the suit erupted forth. Aztek died in the blast, but he managed to hurt Maggedon long enough for Batman and Martian Manhunter to free Superman while the rest of the JLA organized a counterattack.
